Kim Hando — Owner & Founder

Formerly registered nurse (Division 1)

Kim brings over 30 years of nursing experience to First Aid Distributions, where she is the company's owner and founder. She trained as a Division 1 registered nurse through Australia's hospital-based nursing program, the standard pathway before university degrees became the entry route into the profession. It was a rigorous model that combined intensive theoretical study with thousands of hours of supervised clinical practice on the ward, producing nurses with exceptional hands-on capability and clinical judgement.

Kim's career was built in hospital settings, with extensive experience in operating theatre nursing and wound care. Her theatre background gives her a depth of understanding around surgical wound management, sterile technique, infection control, and acute patient care that few people in the first aid supply industry can match.

Now retired from clinical practice, Kim channels that experience into FAD's product range, supplier relationships, and the clinical content published across the business. She writes from a perspective built on decades of direct patient care, not textbook theory.
