Jelonet Paraffin Gauze Dressing (1)

Jelonet by Smith & Nephew is a sterile paraffin gauze dressing made from open weave gauze. Smith & Nephew designs it to soothe and protect the wound, and indicates it for burns, graft sites, skin loss wounds and chronic wounds such as leg ulcers or pressure sores.

Jelonet sits against the wound as a contact layer and is used with a secondary dressing over the top. The open weave is designed to let wound fluid and exudate pass through and drain into that secondary dressing. Smith & Nephew states the dressing shows minimal fray when cut and can be removed from the wound in one piece.

The gauze is conformable and can be cut to shape to suit the size of the wound. Jelonet comes in four sizes, from a 5cm x 5cm square through to a 15cm x 2m roll, so you can match the dressing to the wound rather than the other way around.
