This kit carries items a standard first aid kit does not: a tactical combat tourniquet, a sterile disposable scalpel, skin glue, suture, and a Kaltostat alginate dressing, packed into a hard green two-tray case measuring 36cm x 18cm x 12cm. It is built for remote and high-risk work where help is a long way off and the response has to go beyond cuts and grazes.

The contents step well past a basic kit. A tactical combat tourniquet handles a life-threatening limb bleed, a 15cm x 18cm trauma and haemorrhage-control dressing and a Kaltostat alginate dressing manage serious wounds, and a sterile disposable scalpel, a Crile Wood needle holder, nylon suture, and Leukosan skin glue give a trained responder wound-closure options in the field. Burn gel, a DuoDerm dressing, a snake bite bandage with a compression indicator, a tick remover, and an aluminium foam splint cover the rest of the remote-injury range.

The case is a hard green plastic box with two counter-lever trays, snap locks for security, and white carry handles, measuring 36cm x 18cm x 12cm. The trays lift out so the deeper items are reachable, and the contents sheet inside makes auditing and restocking straightforward. Some items, including the surgical components, are intended for trained users, so match the kit to the skills of whoever carries it.

We design and assemble this kit in-house in Bendigo to meet Australian first aid kit requirements, and we ship it from our East Bendigo warehouse and Sydney fulfilment centre. FAD has been family-owned since 2011, and the team can build a version specific to your site or expedition. The same account that carries this kit carries the refill stock for every item in it, so restocking after use is one order rather than a hunt across suppliers. For help matching the kit to your work, call the team on 03 5443 2239.

Usage

Store the case where it is reachable and keep the trays in order so the trauma items are not buried under the consumables. The surgical components are for trained users, so make sure whoever carries the kit knows what they can and cannot use. Audit against the contents sheet and replace anything used or expired, paying attention to the sterile items.

Care and storage

Keep the case out of direct heat and check the sterile items for intact packaging at each audit. Replace the tourniquet, dressings, and any expired consumables as part of the restock.

Common questions

What makes this different from a standard kit? It carries trauma and wound-closure items a standard kit leaves out, including a combat tourniquet, a sterile scalpel, suture, and an alginate dressing.

Is it for everyone? No. Some items are intended for trained users. The dressings, splint, tourniquet, and snake bite bandage suit any responder, but the surgical components assume training.

Can I have it built for my site? Yes. The team can assemble a version specific to your work or expedition.

How do I restock it? Order the contents or refill stock through FAD in the one account, including the less common items, rather than sourcing them across suppliers.
