UrgoStart is an advanced foam dressing from Urgo, made for low to moderately exuding wounds that are slow to heal. It combines an absorbent polyurethane foam pad with a TLC-NOSF contact matrix, and suits chronic wounds, diabetic foot ulcers, leg ulcers, pressure injuries, long-standing acute wounds and wounds with fragile surrounding skin. This listing is the 10cm x 10cm size, supplied as a single dressing.
How it works
The dressing pairs Urgo's TLC lipido-colloid contact layer with the NOSF (nano-oligosaccharide factor) matrix. The absorbent foam pad takes up exudate, while the lipido-colloid layer is designed to lift away with less trauma to the wound and the surrounding skin at each dressing change. Urgo designed the TLC-NOSF matrix to support the healing environment in hard-to-heal wounds such as leg ulcers and diabetic foot ulcers.
Using UrgoStart
UrgoStart has a wear time of up to seven days, depending on the level of exudate and the condition of the wound, and is typically changed every two to four days. Urgo recommends a treatment course of at least four to five weeks. Apply to a clean wound and follow the advice of the treating clinician.
