How it works

The pad is a sterile non-woven layer of poly-absorbent fibres that Urgo describes as highly absorbent and cohesive. It is coated with a micro-adherent lipido-colloid matrix (TLC) that gels on contact with exudate. As the fibres take up fluid they lift and hold slough, which supports the desloughing stage of wound bed preparation.

When to use it

Urgo lists the dressing for the desloughing phase of chronic exuding wounds such as leg ulcers, pressure injuries and diabetic foot ulcers, and for potentially sloughy acute and post-operative wounds. Follow the assessment and treatment plan set by the treating clinician.
