Philips HeartStart FRx Defibrillator Infant Child Key (1)

The HeartStart FRx Infant/Child Key sets a Philips HeartStart FRx defibrillator to paediatric mode. Philips lists it as for use only with the HeartStart FRx defibrillator to treat an infant or child who is under 8 years of age or weighing less than 25kg (55lbs). Insert the key into the FRx before use and the device switches to the right settings for a smaller patient. One key is supplied (Philips part number 989803139311).

When the key is in place, Philips describes the FRx as automatically reducing the defibrillation energy and providing voice and visual instructions and CPR guidance appropriate for the treatment of infants and children. With the key inserted, the FRx switches to the paediatric settings and guides the responder through child CPR and defibrillation, so the same unit covers both adult and child casualties on site.
