Philips HeartStart Defibrillator FR3 Smart Pads III (1)

Philips HeartStart FR3 SMART Pads III are the replacement self-adhesive electrode pads for the HeartStart FR3 defibrillator. They are the consumable that connects the FR3 to the patient, so keeping a current, in-date set with every FR3 unit is part of keeping the device ready to use. Supplied as a single set (Philips REF 989803149981) or in a pack of five sets (REF 989803149991).

Each set is a pair of disposable, single-use adhesive pads with a nominal active surface area of 80 cm² each, supplied with an attached cable and connector that plugs into the FR3. The pads are non-sterile and do not contain natural rubber latex. They are designed for use with the HeartStart FR3 AED, and when stored in the optional Pads Sentry they can be pre-connected to the unit so they are ready the moment the FR3 is opened.

The FR3 is configured for adult use by default and can be set up for an infant or child casualty using the device's optional Infant/Child Key. That paediatric capability is a function of the FR3 and the Infant/Child Key, not of the pads themselves: the same SMART Pads III set is used in either mode, so there is no separate pad set to swap during a rescue.

Defibrillator pads have a limited shelf life and lose adhesion and conductivity over time. Each pads package is printed with an expiration date (date format MM-YYYY). Check that printed date as part of your routine AED checks and replace the set before it lapses or after any use, so the unit is never left with an out-of-date or already-deployed set.
