A torn pad on a bush walk or a grass-seed wound after a run is the kind of thing a pet kit handles before the vet. The Pet First Aid Kit Economy packs the basics for that into a purple soft bag with carry handles, belt loops, and mesh compartments, sized 30cm x 17cm x 9cm so it clips to a pack or sits in the car.

The contents cover cleaning and dressing a minor wound: antiseptic wipes and povidone iodine swabs, a combine dressing, a non-adherent dressing, conforming and cohesive bandages, saline wash, gloves, scissors, and tweezers. The cohesive bandage matters for animals because it sticks to itself rather than to fur, so it holds a dressing without pulling hair on removal.

This is the entry-level pet kit, built for the common minor injuries. If you want extras like a digital thermometer, a tick remover, and a vomit clean-up sachet, the Pet First Aid Kit Premium steps up from here. A printed contents sheet makes restocking simple.

We design and assemble the kit in-house in Bendigo, and the same FAD account that carries the kit carries the human first aid range too, so a family that wants one supplier for both is covered. The team on 03 5443 2239 can talk through what suits your pet and how you travel.

Usage

Keep the bag where it goes with the dog, in the car or clipped to a day pack. For a minor wound, clean with saline or an antiseptic wipe, cover with the non-adherent dressing, and hold it with the cohesive bandage, which won't stick to fur. Anything beyond a minor injury needs a vet.

Care and storage

Store out of heat and check the contents every six months, replacing used items or anything expired. Restock from FAD in the same order as your other first aid stock.

Common questions

What animals is this for? Dogs, cats, rabbits, and other pets. It carries general-purpose minor-injury items, not species-specific medication.

How is it different from the Premium kit? The Economy covers the basics. The Premium adds a digital thermometer, a tick remover, a vomit clean-up sachet, and more bandaging.

Does it replace a vet? No. It's for first response to minor injuries; anything serious or uncertain needs a vet.
