Molicare Premium Elastic Maxi Plus 10 Drops

This all-in-one slip is made for very severe incontinence and comes in four waist sizes. Hartmann says the elasticated side panels adapt to different body shapes within those sizes, and that it covers both urinary and faecal incontinence.

The ElasticFIX system uses one re-closable tape on each side instead of two, which Hartmann says makes application quicker and easier to handle. Fitting is a four-step process, and it can be done with the wearer standing or lying. Hartmann also says the ergonomic design helps reduce stress on the body of the person providing care.

Hartmann describes the MoliCare SkinGuard core as locking liquid away quickly for an instant-dry feeling, with odour control and skin protection. It states that the three layer core keeps the skin dry, and that the product helps maintain the skin pH.

• Fit: two elasticated side panels and two re-closable tapes.
• Core: anti-leak cuffs for added leakage protection, and a wetness indicator on the outer backsheet.
• Materials: a breathable topsheet against the skin, soft textile materials for comfort and discretion, dermatologically tested, free from perfumes and latex.

Anti-leak cuffs are the barriers along each side, and the wetness indicator shows when a change is due.

SIZE AND FIT

Sizes run by waist measurement, and each size ships as one bag.

• Small: 70cm to 90cm, 22 per bag
• Medium: 85cm to 120cm, 14 per bag
• Large: 115cm to 145cm, 14 per bag
• Extra Large: 140cm to 175cm, 14 per bag

ABSORBENCY

Maxi Plus is the designation Hartmann has used for the 10 drops level, which it describes as an overnight product. Hartmann's Australian pages give a laboratory maximum, labelled ISO Max, of 2771ml for Small and 4279ml for Large, and a laboratory maximum is not in-use capacity.

USING AND STORING

Take the slip out of its packaging at least half an hour before use. Position it centrally, lining the wetness indicator up with the spine.

Oil based or silicone based creams and talcum powder on the skin may adversely affect the permeability of continence care products. Hartmann states that its own MoliCare Skin range does not affect the permeability of continence care products. If you use another skin product under the slip, check it with the manufacturer or your continence nurse first.
