Mepilex Border Flex Lite from Molnlycke is a thin, self-adherent silicone foam dressing for non to moderately exuding wounds. Each box holds 5 dressings sized 10cm x 10cm. It suits leg and foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, surgical wounds and traumatic wounds such as abrasions, blisters and skin tears, and can also protect compromised or fragile skin.

The dressing is built in layers. A soft silicone Safetac wound contact layer sits against the skin, a two-layer absorbent pad of foam and a non-woven spreading layer manages exudate, and a breathable but waterproof outer film protects the wound from dirt and bacteria. The Safetac adhesive minimises pain to the patient and trauma to the wound and surrounding skin at dressing removal, which makes it a sensible choice for fragile skin.

Mepilex Border Flex Lite is thin and highly conformable, and it maintains a moist wound environment. It can be used under compression bandaging and in combination with gels, and the change interval may be several days, depending on the wound and clinical practice.
