Melgisorb Alginate Ag Absorbent Dressing (1)

Melgisorb Ag is a highly absorbent antimicrobial alginate dressing from Molnlycke, designed for moderate to heavily exuding wounds where silver is indicated. It is a silver-containing alginate with carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) fibres that provides a sustained antimicrobial effect, and the alginate forms a gel as it absorbs exudate. One dressing is supplied per pack, and Molnlycke indicates it for external use only.

It suits a range of moderate to heavily exuding wounds, including post-operative wounds, leg ulcers and diabetic ulcers, trauma wounds, graft and donor sites, and pressure ulcers. The alginate gels on contact with exudate, which helps manage moisture at the wound bed, and the high fibre strength allows removal in one piece at dressing change. Choose a size slightly larger than the wound and follow the product instructions or your treating clinician's guidance for wear time and change frequency.
