A 21cm x 15cm x 7.5cm bumbag with a waist belt, the Hunting First Aid Kit is built around serious bleeding control in a package small enough to wear all day. It carries a tactical combat tourniquet, a QuikClot EMS haemostatic dressing, and a trauma and haemorrhage control wound dressing, the three items that matter most when a wound out in the bush is life-threatening.

This is a focused bleed-control kit, not a general first aid kit. The tactical combat tourniquet handles a major limb bleed, the QuikClot haemostatic dressing helps control bleeding from a serious wound, and the trauma and haemorrhage control dressing covers and packs the injury. A heavy conforming bandage, gloves, an emergency thermal blanket, and universal shears round out the response. It's designed by our in-house team for higher-risk outdoor environments.

The bumbag is hard-wearing fabric with a zip lock and waist belt, so it rides on your hip and stays out of the way until you need it. It suits hunting, fishing, wilderness travel, and remote-area work where carrying a full kit isn't practical but bleeding control still has to be on you.

If you want it set up differently, we can build a kit to your requirements, so talk to the team about adding items like burn or wound-care supplies. We design and assemble it in-house in Bendigo, it ships from our East Bendigo warehouse and Sydney fulfilment centre, and the team on 03 5443 2239 can help you decide if this focused kit or a fuller adventure kit suits your trip.

Usage

Wear the bumbag on your hip so the bleed-control items are on you, not back at camp. Know how to apply the tourniquet and pack a wound with the haemostatic dressing before you need them, because both are time-critical and harder to work out under pressure. Check the contents before each trip and every six months, replacing the tourniquet, QuikClot, and trauma dressing if used or expired.

Care and storage

Keep the bumbag dry and out of direct heat between trips. The QuikClot dressing and the trauma dressing have expiry dates, so confirm them at each check and replace as needed.

Common questions

Is this a full first aid kit? No. It's a focused bleed-control kit for serious bleeding. For general first aid, pair it with a broader kit or look at the Explorer Pack adventure kit.

What is the QuikClot dressing for? It's a haemostatic dressing that helps control bleeding from a serious wound when packed into the injury. Know how to use it before you head out.

Can I add more items? Yes. Our in-house team can build a kit to your requirements; contact us to add burn or wound-care supplies.

For carrying bleeding control in remote country, read our snake season and snake bite first aid kit guide. See the outdoor first aid kits collection, or focus on bleeding control in the bleed control kits collection.
