Combine Dressing - Aero (1)

The AeroWound Combine Dressing is an absorbent cotton-filled pad for managing exuding and bleeding wounds. Aero Healthcare states it is highly absorbent, with a cotton-filled core that draws exudate into the pad, so it suits a wound producing more fluid than a basic island dressing can hold. It works as a secondary dressing over a primary wound contact layer, and sits neatly beneath a retention bandage or fixation tape. Each dressing is sterile and single-use.

Aero Healthcare describes the dressing as having a low-adherent contact surface intended to minimise sticking at the wound interface and a low risk of wound irritation. Secure it with a retention bandage or fixation tape, and apply firm pressure over the pad to help control bleeding.

Choosing a size

Match the pad to the wound so it covers the wound bed and a margin of intact skin. The 10cm x 10cm suits smaller wounds, the 10cm x 20cm a longer graze or laceration, and the 20cm x 20cm a larger or more heavily exuding wound. When in doubt, size up so the absorbent core has room to do its job.
