Managing an exuding wound that is infected or at risk of infection needs a dressing that handles fluid and carries an antimicrobial. Allevyn Ag Adhesive is a hydrocellular foam dressing with an adhesive border that contains silver sulphadiazine, which Smith & Nephew states is released at the wound surface to provide sustained antimicrobial activity. It is designed for partial to full thickness wounds such as surgical wounds, donor sites, pressure injuries, leg and diabetic ulcers, and first and second degree burns.

The foam absorbs and retains viscous exudate while keeping a moist wound environment, and the adhesive border secures the dressing without separate tape. Smith & Nephew indicates a wear time of up to seven days depending on the wound and exudate level. The dressing is non-adherent to the wound bed and anti-fray when cut to size.

Stocked in four sizes from 7.5cm x 7.5cm to 17.5cm x 17.5cm.
