A little expensive, but quite effective.

I first discovered Acticoat Flex 3 in 2018 after suffering from long to heal foot ulcers (result from a car accident in 1989 when a driver ran a red light doing 100 kms an hour and t-boned us. My veins in my foot were severed causing poor circulation. These ulcers would normally take up to 3 years to heal using other methods (iodorsorb, manual debriding etc).

Luckily for me, I was able to access an amazing nurse called Beth, who would look outside the square so too speak.

Beth asked have I ever heard of silver dressings? No, not that I can remember. She said the actual name is Acticoat Flex 3. I said no, definitely not. I would remember than name. She asked if I wanted to give it a try? Absolutely, lets go. But it if doesn't work, can we stop using it? Of course Michelle.
And what a game changer that was. Honestly the best thing I could ever have done.
Not only does silver cut down the healing time (for me, less than 3 months when using other dressings up to 3 years), it is also very gentle to the surrounding skin, and is much easier to remove.
Don't let the health professionals blindside you by saying it is an expensive dressing. It might be if using the whole sheet each time. I cut mine down into squares as size of the ulcer needs it. What is left, I put it back into the package until next time, sealing the pack to keep it sterile.

Acticoat Flex 3 means you can keep on your wound for 3 days before you have to change it.

Fles 3 stopped a lot of the wound slough, and kept the surrounding skin in good shape.
