3M Microfoam Surgical Tape (1) - First Aid Distributions

Microfoam Surgical Tape

Microfoam Surgical Tape

A compression dressing that conforms around a joint, or a procedure fixation that needs to stretch with the tissue, is where 3M Microfoam earns its place. It's an elastic foam tape that moves with the skin rather than against it, holding firm across movement without restricting the dressing underneath.

3M Microfoam comes in 2.5cm, 5cm, and 7.5cm widths in 5-metre rolls. The 5cm is the standard-use roll for compression and post-procedure dressings. The 2.5cm suits finger and wrist fixation. The 7.5cm covers larger compression areas such as a calf or thigh.

Microfoam's stretchy foam structure makes it the go-to where a rigid tape would fail as soon as the patient moves. It sits alongside the other 3M tapes (Micropore for paper fixation, Transpore for plastic fixation), and the choice between them depends on the hold the wound or procedure needs.

When to reach for elastic fixation is covered in the injury guidance hub. Our full 3M tape range lets you compare Microfoam against paper, plastic, and fabric fixation tapes side by side.

Microfoam sits alongside Micropore and Transpore in our range, so facilities running the 3M tape line can consolidate paper, plastic, and foam fixation onto one FAD account.

Always read the instructions for use.
