Kaltostat Alginate Calcium Sodium Dressing (1)

Kaltostat is a calcium-sodium alginate dressing for wounds that produce a moderate to high amount of fluid (exudate is the fluid a wound gives off). On contact with wound exudate the alginate fibre gradually forms a firm, moist gel that holds the fluid and keeps the wound bed moist. It is indicated as a primary dressing for moderately to highly exuding chronic and acute wounds, and for wounds with minor bleeding.
