Eye Module

The Eye Module is a compact eye first aid kit for the initial care of minor eye injuries and irritation before further medical attention. It holds the essentials for flushing and covering an affected eye in a resealable bag that fits inside most home and workplace first aid kits.

What is in the module

• 10 sterile saline (0.9% sodium chloride) eyewash ampoules, 15ml each, single-use, for flushing dust, grit or a minor splash from the eye
• 4 sterile eye pads to cover and protect the eye
• 1 roll of 1.25cm microporous paper tape to hold a pad in place
• Instructions for use

When to use it

Reach for the module when someone gets dust, grit, a foreign body or a minor water or liquid splash in the eye. Flush the eye with the single-use saline ampoules, then cover it with a sterile eye pad held in place by the microporous tape. For a chemical splash do not rely on this module: hold the eye open and flush it continuously with running water for 15 to 20 minutes and call triple zero (000) straight away. If pain, redness or changes to vision persist, or the injury is anything more than minor, seek medical attention.
