Wound wash and antiseptic ointments cover the first step in wound care: cleaning the surface and protecting it before a dressing goes on. Sterile saline is the everyday wound wash for flushing grit and debris from a graze or a healing wound without stinging.

FAD stocks Sodium Chloride 0.9% saline in 500ml bottles for a clinic and 30ml sachets for a first aid kit, alongside Iodosorb cadexomer iodine ointment from Smith and Nephew for wounds that need an antiseptic.
