A wound dressing has one job: cover the wound, manage what it weeps, and come away cleanly at the next change. Which dressing does that best depends on the wound. A grazed knee, a heavily exuding leg ulcer and a post-surgical incision each call for something different.
FAD carries advanced dressings across foam, superabsorbent and non-adhesive types, so the dressing can be matched to the wound. Allevyn Gentle Border from Smith and Nephew is a soft silicone foam that protects fragile skin around the wound, while Biatain from Coloplast is a bordered foam for moderate exudate. Zetuvit Plus handles heavier drainage as a superabsorbent pad, and the Convamax superabsorber suits high-exudate wounds where a non-adhesive option is wanted.
