Rigid Strapping Tape
On a physio table or a footy sideline, rigid strapping tape is the one that holds a joint firm when it has to take load. Zinc oxide rigid tape restricts movement at the ankle, wrist, and thumb, where the job is support and limitation rather than flex.
Rigid tape is the opposite of an elastic bandage: it doesn't stretch, so it locks a joint into a safe range. Most trainers run it over a layer of underwrap to protect the skin and make removal easier. The 38mm width covers ankles and larger joints; 25mm suits thumbs and fingers.
