Micropore Tape
Paper medical tape is the quiet workhorse of any first aid kit, dressing room, or clinical supply cupboard. Micropore is the paper tape you'll find in most Australian hospitals and aged care facilities, a 3M product used for holding light dressings, IV lines, and scar-management sheets in place.
Width choice comes down to the job. The 1.25cm and 2.5cm rolls are the standard pick for small dressings and IV cannulas. The 5cm roll suits larger gauze pads and post-surgical dressings on the trunk or limb. Micropore is hypoallergenic and designed to release without pulling fragile skin, which is why it's the default choice in aged care and for anyone with thin skin or sensitivity to stronger adhesives.
FAD stocks Micropore in both white and skin-tone finishes across the full range of widths, plus Micropore Surgical Tape for theatre and procedural use. Skin-tone rolls are the pick where appearance matters, scar-management sheets on the face, neck, or hands, or anywhere the dressing needs to sit discreetly under clothing. Post-surgical scar management specifically is covered in our scar management dressings collection. Background on tape selection and wound fixation sits in our wound care and injury guide.
Our medical tape hub sits alongside this collection if you need to compare Micropore with Hypafix, Mefix, or Transpore for a specific application.
