Gauze
Most wound care starts with plain gauze: a swab to clean a graze, a square to pack a cavity, or a layer to hold a dressing in place. It is the most-used item in any dressing drawer. Gauze swabs and squares are plain, sterile cotton or non-woven pads used to clean and prep skin, absorb light fluid, and act as a secondary layer over a contact dressing.
The FAD range spans Topper non-woven gauze swabs, Topper drain swabs for fitting around tubes and drains, and Swisspers cotton squares for skin prep and cleaning. This range is plain gauze.
For a thick, high-absorbency pad over a bleeding or heavily draining wound, see the combine dressing range.
