Remember: First Aid Kits should be maintained in proper condition and the contents replenished when used or out of date. To comply with 'Code Of Practice' your kit should be assessed at 3, 6 or at most 12 monthly intervals. High risk environment kits should be checked at least twice a year to make sure you are prepared.

Latex gloves are soft and flexible for a close fit offering superior dexterity for medical and first aid use. The only downside to latex exam gloves is that they are made from natural latex rubber, a protein-based compound known to cause allergic reactions and irritations in some people.
Vinyl gloves, for use in food handling, have greater cut resistance and are durable and odour free. While they are soft to the touch and very comfortable to wear, they can tear after extended rigorous use. You shouldn't use them for high-risk situations. On the other hand, vinyl gloves are highly resistant to acids, fats and alcohols and they have superior anti-static properties.
Nitrile gloves provide excellent sensitivity and are resistant to many chemicals and solvents. They are less likely to cause irritation and allergic reactions than latex gloves and the blue color makes it much easier to spot pin holes in the event of a puncture. |
